NA passes Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill 2015

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Wednesday passed the Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill 2015 aimed at protecting court officials and witnesses and indemnity against prosecution in any other court of law.

Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Chaudhary Jaffar Iqbal piloted the bill to further amend the Pakistan Army Act, 1952 in the House.
New section 2C is inserted after section 2B in the bill which says, “Protection to witnesses, President, Members of the Court, Defending Officers, Prosecutors and persons concerned with Court Proceedings”.
Members from the Opposition, Naveed Qamar, Dr Shireen Mazari, Dr Arif Alvi, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, Dr Nafeesa Shah questioned the new amendment to the bill and its need.

It was a bad bay for supermodel Ayyan Ali as court rejected her acquittal plea in the money laundering.

The court has summoned her on November 12 for indictment.
Customs authorities had taken her into custody at the Benazir International Airport after seizing 500,000 dollars, which she was trying to smuggle out of the country.

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday issued contempt of court notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Samaa reported.
According to our correspondent, the PTI chief was served notice over his non-appurtenance in the court in connection with a case regarding health reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

MANCHESTER: Former wife of the PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Reham Khan made the first public appearance at a ceremony in Britain after the breakup, SAMAA reported on Wednesday.

Addressing a media conference in Manchester, Reham Khan shunned questions regarding her separation from Imran Khan.

She, however, hinted: “No change is ever possible to take place without the respect for women.”

LAHORE: An aircraft of a private airline carrying 114 passengers ran off the runway Tuesday when its tyre burst upon landing at Lahore airport, Samaa reported.

According to Civil Aviation Authority, the incident took place when Karachi to Lahore flight made a landing on a secondary runway of Allama Iqbal International Airport at 9:27 am .

“We have injuries reported, aircraft damaged, but yet to determine if beyond repair or not,” CAA Twitter account said, while adding that rescue efforts were underway.
